Finance/Admin. Assistant -- PCI Liberia   Job Details

Multi-Year Assistant Program (MYAP) is a five (5) years project in Liberia. Under the proposed Liberian Agriculture Upgrading, Nutrition and Child Health (LAUNCH) MYAP, ACDI/VOCA and its partners, Project Concern International (PCI), John Snow International (JSI), and Making Cents International bring significant technical and in-country experience that will allow the project to decrease food insecurity in Liberia while supporting the trajectory toward market-driven development. We are prepared to address the health and nutritional needs of the targeted communities and are well positioned to apply sustainable, market-driven approaches to build Liberia’s economic development as well as the development of local capacities to address potential shocks and increase gender equity. The project focuses on three (3) main areas: 1) Increase Availability of and Access to Food of Vulnerable Rural Population; 2) Reduce chronic Malnutrition of Vulnerable Women and children; and 3) Increase Access to Education Opportunities.


Under the direct supervision of the PCI Finance/Administrative Manager and functional supervision of the Country Representative, the Finance and Administrative Assistant is responsible for the management of accounts and administration of Program property and other resources of PCI at the Monrovia Office. In collaboration with the Finance Manager and Accountant, she/he ensures uninterrupted delivery of quality operational facilities to the Monrovia offices through strict adherence of PCI rules and regulations and code of ethics and other applicable laws. In collaboration with the Finance manager and the Country Representative ensure uninterrupted and quality supply of office, Participate in the need assessment and system development that envision strengthened planning, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms and to enhance the quality the teaching learning process; Work with the Finance Manager to ensure proper commodity receiving, storage, and issuance system is in place and ensure properly completed and signed Goods Receiving Notes, Materials Issue Vouchers, Consumption Reports, and Material Requisitions Forms should be maintained in time and are properly documented for verification.Manage accurate accounts and prepare monthly financial report, including all paid vouchers, receipts, bank statements, bank reconciliation, and other documentation required.Manage Program property and other resources and perform periodic physical counts. Provide administrative and other logistic support to the PCI office staff.Provide administrative and accounting support for workshops and training sessions.


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field of study; Certificate or short terms course in MS, Excel, Word, and Access; Workshop training or courses in supplies management, system design and implementation preferred; 3 years of experience in related positions (accounting, supplies management, general administration); Computer skills including Microsoft Excel and word are required. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks will be advantageous; Working knowledge of USAID guidelines; Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; Ability to work with minimum supervision;
