Food Monitors -- PCI Liberia   Job Details
COMPANY PROFILE/OVERVIEW:
Multi-Year Assistant Program (MYAP) is a five (5) years project in Liberia. Under the proposed Liberian Agriculture Upgrading, Nutrition and Child Health (LAUNCH) MYAP, ACDI/VOCA and its partners, Project Concern International (PCI), John Snow International (JSI), and Making Cents International bring significant technical and in-country experience that will allow the project to decrease food insecurity in Liberia while supporting the trajectory toward market-driven development. We are prepared to address the health and nutritional needs of the targeted communities and are well positioned to apply sustainable, market-driven approaches to build Liberia’s economic development as well as the development of local capacities to address potential shocks and increase gender equity. The project focuses on three (3) main areas: 1) Increase Availability of and Access to Food of Vulnerable Rural Population; 2) Reduce chronic Malnutrition of Vulnerable Women and children; and 3) Increase Access to Education Opportunities.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Food Monitor is a member of the PCI logistice unit; he/she works in close collaboration with PCI partners (MOH, CHO, WFP, etc) and reveiws systems; and operations associated with food commodities; the Food Monitor s are responsible for ensuring the compliance of PCI food programs with PCI and donors' requirements; he/she builds partners capacity in order to enuser full compliance with PCI and donors' requirement; he/she reports to the Team Leader Verify that commodities are distributed to the targeted beneficiaries according to distribution amount; reviews all food request, internal tranport and handling documents, wherehouse spaces, activities completed for distribution as well as distribution list; reviews the internal control sustem in place to manage food commodities indentifies weakness in PCI partners' agencies systems and procedures, and provides recommendations for improvements; carry out investigations in identifying commodity losses or diversion issues; review food request and distribution plans submitted by partners/field officers; monitor the distribution sign offo sheets are present and used by beneficiaries' community.
 
JOB REQUIREMENT:
Must be a college graduate; must have worked at least 3 years in required area; excellent computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; Excellent skills in logistics planning coordination, partnership; Fluent written and spoken english; must be able to write extensive field report, Motorbike ridding prefered.
